Our Bois d’Arc Land and Cattle (pronounced Bo-Dark) operation has grown to 140 head of Red SimAngus in Northeast Texas, with a heavy emphasis on development of replacement females. The 300-acre farm is roughly 40 miles from Dallas. Our farm name is derived from the hardy, thorny Bois d’Arc tree, native to the area and found in wetlands and along streams. The tree has the unique ability to adapt and thrive under all environmental conditions, just as the Red SimAngus in our pastures.
Our philosophy is simple: We want the commercial breeder to succeed. As you scroll through our website, we hope you see why the Red SimAngus are the kind of cattle we proudly raise. Learn more about our program
We maintain a herd of purebred 1A Red Angus and purebred Red Simmental with a Fleckvieh background. The two are then crossed for our hybred SimAngus blend. Our philosophy is good udders, feet and disposition first!
